There’s something really special about being invited back into a family’s life to document their milestones. I’ve had the joy of photographing Heidi and Jacob a few times over the years, and coming back for baby Quinn’s newborn session felt like revisiting old friends.

Just a couple of years ago, I was in this very same space capturing newborn photos of their first daughter, Remi. That session feels like it happened only a few months ago—which made it all the more surreal and sentimental to walk through the door again and see Remi as a full-blown toddler with a huge personality.

Remi, now 2.5, absolutely stole the show (in the best way). She was full of energy and excitement, especially about her new role as big sister. One of my favorite parts of the session was her proudly showing off her play camera—taking "pictures" of me, of her baby sister, of her parents. It was such a sweet, funny full-circle moment to be photographed by the little girl I once photographed as a newborn.

And then there’s baby Quinn—so tiny, peaceful, and perfectly snuggly. She was such a calm little presence throughout the session, happy to be held by her parents and cuddled by her very eager big sister. Watching the four of them together felt like witnessing the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.

Heidi and Jacob are some of the kindest people I’ve worked with—so easygoing, warm, and welcoming. Their home had such a relaxed, love-filled energy that made the whole session feel like just hanging out with friends (who happen to have the cutest kids ever).

These are the sessions that make my heart feel full. Getting to see a family grow, to capture those fleeting newborn days, and to witness the little personalities blooming in front of my camera—it’s a gift I’ll never take for granted.
