There’s something so peaceful about a newborn session—those quiet, in-between moments where time seems to slow down just enough to soak it all in. Getting to document that for the Schuchmann family was extra special, because Whitney is my husband Josh’s cousin, and I’ve loved watching their sweet family grow over the years.
Whitney and John just welcomed their third baby boy, little Murray, and I got to spend a cozy morning in their beautiful home capturing this brand-new chapter. Big brothers Harrison (4) and Booker (2) were full of life and curiosity—just the way toddlers should be—and it was so sweet to see them step into their new roles with Murray. Watching three boys under one roof already forming their lifelong bond... it's pure magic.
One of my favorite parts of this session was simply being able to catch up—talking with Whitney about how the birth went, how newborn life has been (especially with two active boys in the mix!), and just sharing where our families are at in this season. These slower-paced sessions are a gift, not just for the families I photograph, but for me too.
Whitney and John, thank you for welcoming me into this precious moment in your lives. Your home was full of warmth, laughter, and love—the perfect setting for capturing your story. It’s such a joy to watch your family grow, and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it.
Welcome to the world, baby Murray. You are so very loved.
