Some photography sessions feel more like a reunion, and that’s exactly how it felt capturing the Kozlowski family’s newborn session. Shelby and Jason are old friends from college, and though we don’t get to see them often since they live in St. Charles, it’s always such a joy when we do. They are the kind of people who make you feel instantly at home—warm, welcoming, and so easy to talk to.

This session was extra special as they introduced their newest little love, baby Caroline. She is so tiny and absolutely precious, snuggled up in the sweetest peachy-pink nursery with delicate daisy details. It’s a space filled with so much love, just like their home.

Big brother Ben, was full of curiosity and sweetness. He couldn’t stop smiling at his baby sister, his joy so pure and heartwarming. Watching him gently reach for her tiny hands and look at her with wide-eyed wonder was one of my favorite parts of the session. You can already tell he’s going to be the best big brother.

Adding to the fun, their two dogs joined in for a few pictures on the bed, making the session feel even more natural and full of life. I love when families include their pets—it just adds to the story of their home and the love that fills it.

The light that poured through their windows was warm and golden, wrapping everything in the softest glow. It was one of those sessions where everything felt effortless—the love, the laughter, the quiet, intimate moments.

Shelby and Jason, thank you for welcoming me into your home and letting me freeze these fleeting moments for you. Your family is so beautiful, and I loved every second of this session. I hope these images bring you back to this sweet season of life for years to come.
