There’s something extra special about getting to photograph a family over the years—watching little ones grow, capturing milestones, and preserving the subtle shifts of life as they unfold. I’ve had the absolute joy of photographing the Light family since their son Jay was a baby, and our recent maternity session at Forest Park felt like both a celebration and a bittersweet goodbye.

Morgan and Jeremy are expecting twin boys—Whitten and Walker! I actually didn’t know it was twins until we met for their Maternity session, and let me tell you, my jaw dropped when they told me. What an incredible surprise, and what a beautiful blessing for this sweet family. Jay (now 3) is going to be the best big brother with double the love to give.

We met during early spring, just as the first green leaves were beginning to show. Forest Park was bathed in golden hour light, the kind of rich, dreamy glow that filters softly through the trees and wraps around everything it touches. Morgan was radiant, Jeremy so proud, and Jay full of his usual curiosity and charm. It was magic.

But this session also carried a tender weight. As we walked and talked between shots, Morgan shared that their family is moving from St. Louis. I’m thrilled for them as they begin this new chapter—but it’s hard not to feel a little heartache too. Saying goodbye to a family I’ve grown with through the years is never easy.

Morgan and Jeremy, thank you for trusting me with your memories—from Jay’s earliest days to this incredible new season. I’m so grateful to have been part of your journey, and I’ll be cheering you on from afar as you welcome Whitten and Walker into the world.

Wishing you all the light and love in this next adventure. 💛
