It’s always such a treat when I get to photograph families I’ve known for years, and the Krumsieg family is one of those! I used to go to church with Trisha and Ben, and it’s been so fun watching their family grow over the years. Their kids — Nevaeh, Sawyer, and Nora — are such awesome, fun kids, and they always bring great energy to their sessions.

We met at The Hatchery in Forest Park for their fall Mini Session, and at first, everything seemed to line up perfectly. The forecast said no rain, but by late afternoon the chances started creeping up, and I found myself checking my weather app constantly — I had several sessions that evening and was really hoping we could make it through without having to reschedule.

But this session turned out to be a little unique. One of the kids wasn’t having the best time — it was chilly, damp, and just not super comfortable weather to be out in. I completely understood (honestly, I was cold too!), so we decided to call it early and reschedule. I’m so glad we did, because the next weekend at Lafayette Park, the weather was absolutely perfect!

The kids were all smiles the second time around, and we got such a beautiful mix of shots between the two parks this year. I loved getting to capture both locations — the vibrant fall color at Forest Park and the charm of Lafayette Park made for such a fun variety in their gallery.

I’m so thankful for families like the Krumsieg’s who are flexible and easygoing, even when the weather doesn’t totally cooperate. It’s always such a joy to see them and capture another year of memories together!
