I always love photographing the Daniels family — we’ve been doing sessions together for a few years now, and it’s been so fun watching Sonny and Lola grow each time! JoAnna and Spencer are always such a joy to work with, and this year they brought along their sweet dog, Finn, for a few photos too.

We met at The Hatchery in Forest Park for their fall Mini Session. The forecast had been clear all week, but as the afternoon rolled around, the chance of rain started creeping higher and higher. I kept checking my weather app between sessions, hoping we wouldn’t have to reschedule. Thankfully, the rain held off just long enough — we got through their entire session before it started to lightly drizzle at the very end.

The overcast sky actually worked in our favor — it made all the fall colors look so rich and bold. Every leaf, outfit, and smile just popped against that soft light. Sonny and Lola did such a great job; they were full of smiles, laughter, and sweet sibling moments that made my job easy.

I’m so thankful for how flexible and easygoing the Daniels family always is. Even with the weather threatening to turn, they showed up with great attitudes and we ended up with such a beautiful, joy-filled session!
