The Kazda family session was such a special one for me. I’ve known Carly practically my whole life — we grew up together, went to the same church and school (shoutout to St. E’s!), and were the best of friends. Getting to photograph her family all these years later is such a sweet full-circle moment, and it truly warmed my heart to see her again.

Carly and Adam have two beautiful daughters, Poppy and Juliet. Poppy, the big sister, started off a little shy — which I completely understand — but it didn’t take long before she gave me some of the cutest, most genuine smiles. Juliet is still a baby and was so content the entire time. Those soft baby eyes and sweet little expressions just melted me. Watching Carly as a mom and seeing her girls’ personalities shine was such a joy.

For their Fall Mini Session, we met at Tower Grove Park, where I found the dreamiest corner of the park tucked beneath two giant willow trees. The lighting that evening could not have been more perfect — golden hour was glowing, the colors were bold and bright, and the early fall leaves were showing off. Everything had this warm, magical feel to it that made their session even more beautiful.

It was truly delightful to reconnect with Carly and capture her family in such a gorgeous setting. Sessions like these — filled with meaning, history, and love — are the ones that make this job feel so special.
